Top 5 Best Gaming Chairs in Malaysia 2022 (Max Comfort)

Best Premium Gaming Chairs
"Stay comfortable in long gaming sessions"

Tired of sitting in a regular chair? If you’re looking for truly ergonomic chairs with stylish designs, you will want to scroll down below and read our selections for the top 5 Best Gaming Chairs in Malaysia for the year 2022, available now on Shopee & Lazada.

How We Pick

As we mention in our article on Best Budget Gaming Chairs, the best way to know whether a chair is fit for you is to actually sit on the chair itself. However, there are a few key considerations that you can take into account to judge the quality of the gaming chair without physically touching it.

Price Tags

There are lots of gaming chairs on the market, including those made at very low cost. What is considered high end gaming chairs in Malaysia may not actually be high end if we compare the price tags to those in international markets (for example, if compared to SecretLabs).

However, anything north of RM800 you can safely consider as great gaming chairs in Malaysia. Our choices therefore include those in the RM800-RM2000 price range.

Fabric

Gaming chair brands really like to use PU leather with a bit of carbon fibre or high quality fabric, as the main ‘skin’ of the chair. While PVC is more durable, PU leather gives this almost-true-leather vibe. Our selections here mostly are focused on chairs with PU leather and some with PVC.

Recline Angle

A good gaming chair should be able to recline up to 160°-180° degrees. Most of you probably won’t need to adjust the backrest all the way to 180° degrees though. Regardless, we wanted to choose those than can recline in this range, unless we think other features make up for not being able to do this (such as 4D adjustable armrest).

Armrests Adjustability

Cheap gaming chairs typically have either fixed or 2D armrests. A hallmark of a good core structure design is the chair’s ability to have its armrests adjusted in 4D (up-down, forward-backward, left-right and rotated inwards-outwards). Our selections favor gaming chairs with 4D armrests.

Backrest Length & Weight Support

Besides being able to recline, gaming chairs should also fit most people comfortably. We selected those with backrest length around or above 180cm with body weight support at least 120kg and up to 180kg. For the average Malaysia, this criteria should fit.

Ergonomic Design

Now many brands will claim their chair is ergonomic, but this doesn’t automatically mean it’s comfortable. Ergonomic in this context simply means that the chair is adjustable. We prefer those with wide, tall, dense but soft lumbar & neck pillows as those actually have the best chance of being truly ergonomic for most people (adjustable and allow good posture).

There are a few other factors to consider, so check out or Gaming Chair Buying Guide. For now, let’s see our top selections.

Anda Seat Kaiser 3 XL Gaming Chair

Best Gaming Chair with PVC Leather
Overview:
Pros: 4D armrests, clean stylish look, wide lumbar.
Cons: Only reclinable to 160° degrees, pricey.
Specifications - Material: PVC leather & carbon fibre | Recline: 165° | Weight Support: 180kg | Armrests: 4D | Base: Aluminium | Seat Width: 53cm.

The Anda Seat is a rising brand in the gaming chair market, offering many series of quality gaming chairs at an affordable price. The Kaiser 3 is one of the most stylish chairs we’ve seen in the sense that it provides this clean, minimal and expensive look. But this is not a gaming chair with style over substance: the backrest of this chair is reclinable up to 165° degrees and the armrests can be adjusted in 4D. Durability is also a strong point as the base of the chair is made of aluminium with body weight support up to 180kg (for the XL version) and titan steel as the main framework. Perfectly suitable for all kinds of body shape and sizes. The PVC leather and Carbon Fibre used also ensure high durability albeit by sacrificing a little bit on the ‘feel’ side of things, as PU leather would’ve felt more like leather. The seat is thick and has a width of about 53cm including sides with a depth of 57 cm. The backrest is 85cm tall. Overall, this is a great chair for most people, so it comes down to whether you like the design or not. Choose between the L or XL versions.

Todak Alpha 001 Gaming Chair

Affordable Premium Gaming Chair
Overview:
Pros: Reclines to 180° degrees, 4D armrests.
Cons: Smaller seat, neck and lumbar pillows.
Specifications - Material: PU Leather | Recline: 180° | Weight Support: 150kg | Armrests: 4D | Base: Nylon | Seat Width: 47cm.

If you’re not willing to spend more than RM1200 for a gaming chair, here’s a choice for you. The Todak brand is one of the most popular gaming brands out there. One of their high-end products, the Alpha 001 Premium offers great value at a great price. The strengths of this model are in the combination of perforated and PU leather giving it extra breathability, a strong metal frame that allows for 180° degrees recline and maximum weight of 150kg. Plus, the armrests can be adjusted in 4D which at this price, is a great addition. The cons though are that the chair’s base is not aluminium, only nylon and the neck and lumbar pillows are a bit small and do not look very comfortable. The seat is also smaller than other models, at only 47cm including sides so only consider this if you are average sized. Other than that, at this price point, it’s pretty good.

NobleChairs Epic Mercedes – AMG Petronas F1 Edition Gaming Chair

Wide Seat Gaming Chair
Overview:
Pros: Branded logo, wide and deep seat.
Cons: Only reclines to 135° degrees and supports up to 120kg.
Specifications - Material: Hybrid | Recline: 135° | Weight Support: 120kg | Armrests: 4D | Base: Aluminium | Seat Width: 57cm.

Wanna show off your gaming chair? NobleChairs is one brand that, if you have it, will make your friends jealous pretty quick. There’s one chair from them that we thought was pretty unique and interesting, which is the Epic Series F1 Team Edition. Firstly, notice the branding on this one: with a Mercedes and AMG Petronas F1 logo, the branding is no joke (also limited edition, mind you). Second, the skin or cover is hybrid and looks like a combination of PU leather and some fabric, that gives it a nice balance between durability and breathability. Third, the armrests are 4D (adjustable to 7cm in height) which is good if you’re spending this much. Fourth, the seat is actually pretty wide at 57cm including sides with depth of 56cm, which should be pretty comfy for most people. Now the downsides of this are that the backrest recline angle is only up to 135° degrees and the max weight is only 120kg despite the aluminium base and steel core. Nevertheless, the lumbar and back pillows are wide and comfy. Overall, if you don’t really mind the limited recline angle, this is something to consider. The logo is a plus point.

Tomaz Troy Limited Edition Gaming Chair

Best Gaming Chair Under RM1000
Overview:
Pros: Reclineable to 180° degrees, 4D armrests, affordable.
Cons: smaller seat, iron base.
Specifications - Material: Fabric | Recline: 180° | Weight Support: 180kg | Armrests: 4D | Base: Iron | Seat Width: 46cm.

If you’re looking for a good gaming chair that costs less than RM1000, consider the Tomaz Troy Limited Edition. For a price of around RM900, you get quite great features with a pretty design. The 85cm backrest can be adjusted to recline up to 180° degrees and the armrests are also 4D adjustable. Durability is also pretty decent with body weight support up to 180kg. The cover is made of cooling Fabric Weave, rather than PU or PVC leather so expect more comfort but at the cost of durability. The lumbar pillow is quite wide, making it easier to achieve the right posture but the neck pillow maybe slightly too large, you will have to get used to it. Now some of the cons of this chair are that the seat is not very spacious: only 46cm including sides, and the base is made of iron which is a bit questionable. Overall, this chair will be decently comfortable for most people, have great design and as affordable as it gets before being in the budget market.

Asus ROG Chariot Gaming Chair

Best Gaming Chair With RGB LED
Overview:
Pros: RGB, 4D armrest.
Cons: Only 120kg of weight support, reclines to 145° degrees
Specifications - Material: PU leather | Recline: 145° | Weight Support: 120kg | Armrests: 4D | Base: Aluminium | Seat Width: 54cm.

The ASUS ROG Chariot Core is a great match for setups with a lot of RGB (for example, RGB keyboards, desk, etc). In terms of design, it does look like a typical gaming chair, but the uniqueness of this product lies in the RGB Aura that you can control in terms of color and effects. The backrest can be adjusted up to 145 degrees, with a 4D armrest and can support up to 120kg of weight. The leather is made of PU Leather which is pretty standard. The lumbar pillow is also wide, making sitting on it more comfortable, especially for long periods of time. Overall, there aren't many gaming chairs that have RGB, so if you like RGB, this chair may be the one you're looking for.

Summary

What Is A Gaming Chair?

A gaming chair is a seat furniture designed for maximal comfort during long hours of playing video games. They are typically ergonomic, sturdy and stylish padded seats that resemble racing bucket seats manufactured by luxury sports car brands.

What Is The Price For A Gaming Chair In Malaysia?

Good gaming chairs cost typically between RM800 to RM2500. Some higher end ones will even cost more than RM3000. Furthermore, there are budget gaming chairs that cost somewhere between RM200 to RM1000.

Gaming Chair Buying Guide

Have you decided to get a gaming chair? Before you pick just based off styles alone, we thought it’d be good to share about some buying factors you should consider based on our research:

  • Budget: We recommend having a budget of minimum RM500. Ideally above RM1000 (check out why below).
  • Fabric: PVC is more durable, PU leather feels more like leather. Fabric is cooling and breathable. Best if you find a chair that uses multiple types of fabric (such as PU leather and fabric).
  • Body weight support: The more the chair can handle body weight, the more sturdy it is.
  • Recline angle: You’d want at least a chair that can recline at least 160° degrees. Best 180° degrees.
  • Armrest adjustability: If you’re spending more than RM1000, get one with 4D armrests.
  • Seat Width: You’d want a seat with as much space as possible. A good range is over 50cm including sides. But smaller seat can still fit most people.
  • Base: Aluminium is more sturdy, Nylon is lighter.
  • Neck & lumbar pillows: Typically, those with wide pillows feel more comfortable, but small ones are not necessarily inferior.
  • Ergonomic design: Don’t expect ergonomic to automatically mean comfortable!
  • Backrest length: Most have at least 80cm tall backrests. If shorter, double check the dimensions against your height.

Premium Vs Affordable Gaming Chairs

A quick check on shopping platforms will show you that there are many brands of gaming chairs, a lot of which serve the low to mid price range markets. These affordable gaming chairs are at the level now where they can provide decent comfort and durability. But of course, being cost effective means they can never rival the quality of high end gaming chairs. So which one is for you?

Of course, the initial price tags of premium gaming chairs are higher but in general, according to chairsfx.com, cheap gaming chairs will not last as long as premium gaming chairs. So in the long run, the best gaming chairs may actually cost you less.

Comfort is also very important, if you plan to use this chair for 5-8 hours every day, it may be good to spend a little for the best premium gaming chair that not only can last 3-5 years, but prevent you from developing muscle ache and back pain.

Now you know which seat to get, complete your gaming setup with a gaming keyboard, gaming laptop and a gaming headset
